Romeo and Juliet

Romeo & Juliet

The American bison, also known as the buffalo, is an iconic symbol of the American West. While once numbering in the millions, the bison population was decimated to near extinction in the 19th century due to overhunting and habitat loss. However, thanks to conservation efforts, the bison population has rebounded in recent decades. Today, some of these magnificent animals can be found living on Stone Ranch.

The ranch, located in the heart of Texas, is home to two American bison named Romeo & Juliet that are free to roam over the vast acres of land. The ranch is committed to preserving these magnificent creatures and ensuring that they have the space and resources they need to thrive.

One of the things that makes Stone Ranch unique is that it allows visitors to get up close and personal with the bison. Visitors can take a guided tour of the ranch and see the bison in their natural habitat.

In addition to providing a unique experience for visitors, the Stone Ranch is also committed to sustainable ranching practices. The bison are raised on open pasture, and the ranch uses rotational grazing to ensure that the land remains healthy and productive. This allows the bison to thrive while also preserving the natural beauty of the land.

The bison on the ranch are also raised without the use of hormones or antibiotics. This ensures that the meat is of the highest quality and free from any harmful substances. Bison meat is known for being lean and flavorful, and it is a popular choice for health-conscious consumers who are looking for a sustainable source of protein.

Stone Ranch is doing its part to ensure that these magnificent creatures continue to thrive by providing them with the space and resources they need to live and roam freely. And by offering visitors a chance to see the bison up close and learn about their history and importance, the ranch is helping to educate the public about the importance of conservation and sustainable ranching practices.
